The leading small business association endorses Jaime because she is a “true champion for the small business community in Washington”

Vancouver, WA – Today, Jaime Herrera Beutler welcomed the news that her campaign has been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s leading voice for small businesses.

Jaime has consistently championed solutions to support small businesses throughout her service in Congress. She helped successfully lower taxes for craft breweries, restaurants and countless other Southwest Washington small businesses in 2017. During the COVID pandemic, Jaime helped champion the creation of the Paycheck Protection Program which provided small businesses with forgivable loans to continue paying their employees and has helped protect 90,000 jobs in Southwest Washington.

“Congresswoman Herrera Beutler has proven to be a dedicated small business supporter during her time in Congress,” said Patrick Connor, NFIB’s Washington State Director. “She has shown a deep understanding of the issues small business owners in Washington care about, such as regulatory relief and making small business tax relief permanent. We are proud to endorse Congresswoman Herrera Beutler today, and we look forward to continuing to work with her in the U.S. House of Representatives.”

“We are pleased to endorse Congresswoman Herrera Beutler today for re-election,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “She is a true champion for the small business community in Washington and across the country, and we are confident she will continue to represent small businesses well in Congress.”

And as a senior member of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee, Jaime secured emergency funds to specifically protect public housing options for vulnerable residents in Southwest Washington against COVID-19 impacts.

Children’s Hospitals Applaud U.S. House Introduction of Bipartisan ACE Kids Act of 2019

Children’s Hospital Association

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The bipartisan Advancing Care for Exceptional (ACE) Kids Act of 2019 (H.R. 1226) was introduced in the U.S. House by lead co-sponsors Reps. Kathy Castor, D-Fla., Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., Anna Eshoo, D-Calif., and Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash. Children’s hospitals applaud these leaders for prioritizing children’s health by championing legislation to help our nation’s sickest children.

The ACE Kids Act supports better coordination of care for children with complex medical conditions in Medicaid, reducing the burden on families. It enables care closest to the families’ homes and communities, reduces unnecessary hospitalizations, and provides more seamless access to specialized care the child may need across state lines. This legislative effort follows the ACE Kids Act of 2017, which achieved strong bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, passing the House late last year by an overwhelming majority.

The Senate introduced their own version of the ACE Kids Act (S. 317) last week. Children’s hospitals look forward to working with lawmakers to advance this critical bipartisan legislation on behalf of children and families across the country.

In its letter, WAFOP cited Jaime’s backing of legislation that would create federal penalties for attacks that seriously injure or kill police officers, and other solutions during her tenure in office that have provided consistent support for law enforcement. “Your dedication for public safety has shown our members that you will continue to support and advocate for law enforcement, not only in the state of Washington, but throughout this nation,” WAFOP wrote in its endorsement letter.  “Thank you for always supporting the men and women that put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve within the communities they live in.”

“I’m honored that Washington’s chapter of the nation’s largest organization of law enforcement officers recognizes that I’m the best person to keep working for them in Congress. I can’t imagine Southwest Washington communities without these brave men and women who daily put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe,” said Jaime.  “Every single day, I fight so that Southwest Washington residents can live securely and pursue opportunity, and it’s our law enforcement officers who make sure those rights are protected.”
